A TERRIBLE THING IS HAPPENING

reference books detailing myths and legends stolen from libraries...
wikipedia pages wiped clean from the face of the internet...
ancient stained glass windows smashed and destroyed...
historical research centers burnt to the ground...

Someone out there is trying very, very hard to erase all of the possible sources of power and belief of the ancient gods and goddesses. And it hurts. Whilst the powers of the minders are unharmed by the attacks, the gods and goddesses will be certainly feeling the toll: it's now painfully clear that even the simplest of miracles are now becoming almost impossible to perform.

deities, you had better have gifted your minders with some decent blessings! Because now you're going to rely on them more than ever. Someone is out to get you.

while I realize this may not be the best time for levity, I would suggest a little lightening up on the taking a joke front. but duly noted. that they will. the apprentice minder shares my power over them so there's some additional help. not that additional additional help wouldn't also be appreciated, but regardless. I know there's a lot of talk and feeling going around about all us demons and deities and angels and whatever banding together against our common enemy, but, you know I've been in this game long enough to know that a lot of times, talk amounts to just talk. besides my kind are pretty much universally disliked and distrusted (except maybe with magic-doers who are too big for their britches and disaffected youth looking to act out and be edgy but that's hardly the point here!), so hopefully you'll understand my skepticism at asking any others for assistance.

I understand well enough. I also understand that people often tend not to be as decent as we'd like to believe them to be even under the most dire of circumstances. but hey, what do I know. I've only been meddling in the decency and indecency of mortal men and otherwise for, oh, at least a couple millennia now. that said I'll see what I can do. don't expect me to count on them though.

As I recall, you tend to sway toward the indecent.

This is a battle for the survival of us all. That is the priority.

unreliable or not, his power serves our ends as well as yours. and, well, truth of all truths please note that I need you to not spread this around not that I believe you would, I just want to be extra absolutely sure okay his power is probably a little greater than what I can manage right now. unless, say, I pushed myself to the limit, but I'm of the hope that won't be necessary.

I had already suspected as much, Astaroth. And it is only all the more reason for him to be reliable and undistracted.
