❝ FORCED HONESTY v2 ❞
no-one's denying that all these gods and godesses aren't formidable motherfuckers. I mean, let's face it, they're all thousands of years old have turned more hot virgins in to trees than your average mortal has had hot dinners. and even their minders can be pretty badass. but right here, right now, everyone present is bound by the highest authority to TELL NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH to whoever that asks it of them...

GABRIEL, angel of revelation [ judeo-christian ]

What's your worse fear, Jibril?
no subject
I don't care to entertain the notion of fear, horseman. As long as I am true to my purpose, I have nothing to fear.
[ a beat, then with a drop in his glance he adds: ]
So perhaps it is not being true to my purpose. Disservice, I suppose.

Good answer, very you.
no subject
And that means what, exactly?
no subject
Very befitting of the master's dogs.
no subject
Mind your words, horseman.
no subject
I mind them very much.

[ In the lack of any real fight from the horseman Gabriel's annoyance quickly subsides in to scorn. ]
And what, pray tell, does the self-crowned prince fear?

Define righteousness.

Gabriel looks mildly perturbed by the question but at least he has a millenia of scripture to fall back upon. He clears his throat and lifts his chin to reply: ]
A goal to be worked towards. Knowing what our Father requires of us doesn't make it easier to be righteous, but only shows us where we fall short. A state of true righteousness is impossible to attain, but we strive to be worthy of its gift.
[ He breaks off, unhappy at being tested in such a way by one of the Greco-Romans, and raises an eyebrow as if to as are we done here? ]

And your shortcomings. Do they lead to guilt?
no subject
[ Although, sometimes he's not sure he has all that many of them.
Perhaps that in itself is a very obvious shortcoming. ]
Whether or not it is warranted isn't for me to judge.
[ There's an edge to his voice that suggests it isn't for her to judge either; let that be saved for her own believers. He belongs to his God and there is no crossover to be found between of them, of that he is perfectly confident. ]

Is it surprising that I can't think of a thing to ask you?
no subject
But perhaps it's a testimony to our partnership?
no subject
I'd like to think so. I couldn't imagine keeping secrets from you.

time for art trolling

I can't possibly imagine what you're referring to, muse.

My sincere apologies if I have somehow disappointed you.

[Uriel is quite happy with his, though his time in the military was not one he really enjoyed. It seems all so very suiting --the pun very much intended-- that Gabriel stand in court, but sometimes he wonders if such cut-and-dry legality is as icy as his brother makes it seem.]
