IC: EVENT
A TERRIBLE THING IS HAPPENING
reference books detailing myths and legends stolen from libraries...
wikipedia pages wiped clean from the face of the internet...
ancient stained glass windows smashed and destroyed...
historical research centers burnt to the ground...
Someone out there is trying very, very hard to erase all of the possible sources of power and belief of the ancient gods and goddesses. And it hurts. Whilst the powers of the minders are unharmed by the attacks, the gods and goddesses will be certainly feeling the toll: it's now painfully clear that even the simplest of miracles are now becoming almost impossible to perform.
deities, you had better have gifted your minders with some decent blessings! Because now you're going to rely on them more than ever. Someone is out to get you.

he gets the text the same way everyone else does, and takes a moment to read it as he waits for the tea to brew. set's clearly bored, if he's baiting the other gods during a time like this. then again, it's also a prime opportunity, so perhaps it's no wonder that the egyptian hadn't been able to resist.
honestly.
smiling a little to himself, he tucks his phone away again, unbuttoning his cuffs and rolling his sleeves halfway up his pale forearms. the cup and pot go on a tray, then, with other items, and he balances it on his hip as he pushes through the doors to approach the dark-haired god. ]
You're certainly in fine form today. [ the tray is settled neatly on a small table near set's hand, and he reaches up to push a few stray strands of dark red hair out of his face, brows arching. ] I'm certain your family will have some.. interesting responses.

Set doesn't look up right away as he hears the door open, choosing instead to twirl his phone about from hand to hand like it would make the device spill out a reply. The clink of the tray nearby earned those dark eyes, following the pale forearm attached to it all the way up to the master's face. Oh yes, he was a novelty, Cassidy, and made many of his middle-eastern contacts uneasy whenever his presence was called for. Nevertheless, Set enjoyed the strangeness of him, much as one would an exotic bird. His old master had known him rather well; a shame that he could not withstand the recent bout - Set could have used his counsel now, if not his presence. Cassidy's only favor was a crinkle at the dark-rimmed edges of the god's eyes, as well as the fact that Set picked up the offering and sipped it. ]
One might hope so, but I doubt it. Most of them were stupid enough without the shell-shock.
[ Set, you were face-down in vomit when the minders found you; you thought it was a bad trip until you were told about the destruction of the lore. Not a very high place to stand. Best not to mention that to him - he's forgotten it already. ]
Thoth and Anubis are the only ones who have stirred. No hope for the latter - he might have been better off spent on his mother's thigh.
[ Your ex-wife, Set. We don't talk about her either, Cassidy. Maybe the lengthy draw of the next sip is a confirmation of that. ]
Why am I the one who is ready to get something done?

[ after all, as the god of war, the falcon-god used any excuse to be involved in a fight. then again, given his mortal responsibilities, perhaps he was otherwise occupied at the moment.
expression placid, pleasant, he picks up the second cup on the tray, mixing a little honey into the tea absently as he considers the question that isn't precisely a question. ]
Well-- [ he sets the cup back down, pulling his phone back out and scrolling through the calendar. ] --it's been weeks since we've done anything terribly interesting, and the others never have been particularly hands-on, as best I recall. Not so much so as the Norse, at least. Or the Greeks, bless their hedonist hearts.
