A TERRIBLE THING IS HAPPENING

reference books detailing myths and legends stolen from libraries...
wikipedia pages wiped clean from the face of the internet...
ancient stained glass windows smashed and destroyed...
historical research centers burnt to the ground...

Someone out there is trying very, very hard to erase all of the possible sources of power and belief of the ancient gods and goddesses. And it hurts. Whilst the powers of the minders are unharmed by the attacks, the gods and goddesses will be certainly feeling the toll: it's now painfully clear that even the simplest of miracles are now becoming almost impossible to perform.

deities, you had better have gifted your minders with some decent blessings! Because now you're going to rely on them more than ever. Someone is out to get you.

[ Just like Oliver, Persephone is trying not to let on how much this is draining her. She looks up, giving him a slight smile, though it's tired. ] Just stay close. [ She pauses then. ] Actually, could you brush my hair?

[triple]

[ that he can certainly do. he moves further in, collecting the brush along the way. ] Of course, I'd be happy to.

[ and then he's behind her, removing any clips or things she may have, fingers carding through first. always careful. once he's satisfied any troublesome tangles are out, he begins to brush her hair. silent and focused; not pushing for her to talk but there to listen if she needs to. ]

Thank you. [ It helps her relax, having someone brush her hair. Hades does it, at times, but he's currently too uncomfortable to move, and Zeus had said to keep her minders close. Finch would resent being asked, and so it's up to Oliver, who at least doesn't mind.

There's a quiet sigh, her head falling forward. ] It helps, having you near. Having those who believe near.

[ no, he doesn't mind. he never does. that's the point of holding this sort of position, and he takes it seriously—no matter how small or obscure or strange the request. even if it's something he doesn't like, he offers no complaint. usually.

but this? it's simple, easy; can't imagine why anyone would resent being asked.

oliver pauses in his actions for just the briefest of moments. there's a multitude of questions he wants to ask, but already knows there's no point. no one really knows anything. still... ] I have to wonder, why it is they left us with the knowledge and erased it from everyone else.

[ One for spring, one for death. Oliver is her spring, flowers and sunshine, and she adores him.

Persephone lifts her head somewhat, glancing back at him. ] They can't touch us. There are others out there who still believe. They can destroy the source, but that's it. [ She hopes. She really, really hopes. ]

Whoever this is... they will regret it.

[ oh and you can bet that the adoration is completely returned. he definitely wouldn't have taken and kept this position otherwise. ]

To do things on such a grand scale— [ no. he just stops before continuing on down that path. there's no need to point anything out, call more attention to a dismal situation. ] Do you think they will be found soon?

They have angered all of the main pantheons. The Erinyes are hunting. If they are not found soon, then something is truly wrong.

[ But little has been found out so far, and it worries her. ]

Hermes has his master minder looking for security footage. Perhaps that will lead us somewhere.
