A TERRIBLE THING IS HAPPENING

reference books detailing myths and legends stolen from libraries...
wikipedia pages wiped clean from the face of the internet...
ancient stained glass windows smashed and destroyed...
historical research centers burnt to the ground...

Someone out there is trying very, very hard to erase all of the possible sources of power and belief of the ancient gods and goddesses. And it hurts. Whilst the powers of the minders are unharmed by the attacks, the gods and goddesses will be certainly feeling the toll: it's now painfully clear that even the simplest of miracles are now becoming almost impossible to perform.

deities, you had better have gifted your minders with some decent blessings! Because now you're going to rely on them more than ever. Someone is out to get you.

Oh-- yeah, definitely. [ Offering a hand before wrapping her arm around her to keep her steady. ] Bridal or piggy-back? I think piggy-back might work better for the theft part.

[terpsichord]

[She lets Cam pull her up and leans against her heavily, testing her legs before taking on more weight.]

Y'know, I think maybe, uh- not being really attention-grabbing would be better?

[Idea!] Oh, hey- I'll ask someone for help getting out. I'll tell him... I broke my cane, and can he carry me out so I can wait for my ride~?

[She smiles conspiratorially. Distracting someone by being an outrageous, vulnerable flirt~ will let Cam steal anything she fucking wants.]

Super speed, dude -- though yeah, that'll probably be better. Yell if you need me, okay?

[ Since she'll have to move away to let Terps work her ~charms~. ]

[terpsichord]

Okay. Get me into the sex section- I have a plan.

[ideas]

[ The sex section. Oho. Cam wiggles her eyebrows before helping her over to the sex books, mentally making a note to start lifting weights in addition to running. ]

[terpsichord]

[Terps just elbows Cam in the ribs - too weakly - and lets the girl help her, trying to support as much of her own weight as possible.

Then she gets to the right section and picks a book off the shelf that has the words "gag reflex" on the spine.]

I think this'll work.

[ideas]

That would work on me.

[ Dayum girl. Then again, Terps has been around for centuries. She knows what she's doing. ]

Don't forget to yell if you need me.

[ But now it's time for her to make herself scarce. ]

[terpsichord]

I bet. [She barely manages a leer in her exhaustion- a shocking sign of the muse's weakness.

When Cam vanishes, Terps flips the book open then lets go of the bookshelf she's leaning on, letting her weak legs fold underneath her. An employee comes running, and she makes sure her skirt's riding up her long legs when she bats her eyes and asks for help, she thinks she twisted her ankle. Her ride's just outside, can you carry me, I don't want to put weight on it~.

So the sucker does: bridal-style right out of the store, depositing her gently on a bench after Terpsichore reassures him that that's her ride over there and don't worry, her boyfriend can get her into the car. :3 ]

[ Cam makes sure Terps is in good hands (literally) before doing her thing. She's fast, always has been, but now she's faster. Super speed was Hermes' gift and she loves it. She times her move with the opening of the door, zipping through, grabbing an umbrella (in the name of Hermes and Terpsichore), and ending up outside before anyone notices. If she's disturbed anything, people are more likely to blame it on the wind. ]

Hiya. [ She's very suddenly THERE, sitting on the bench next to the muse and grinning, umbrella on her lap. ] Here you go.

[terpsichord]

[Terps gives her best half-smile yet and reaches for the umbrella, testing its sturdiness against the ground.]

Aw, Cam, you're a life-saver. [Literally. She looks back at the girl a little more seriously.] Thanks.

[ideas]

[ That half-smile is returned with one from Cam. They're not out of the woods yet, but at least this is working out. ]

It's my job. And I love my job. [ Technically looking after the muse isn't her job, but hey, Hermes sent her out. ] Now we just have to find some hippies so I can do a little dance for you, and then-- well, I've got to report back to the boss. You want to come?

[terpsichord]

Yeah, sure, I'll come along. Kit's busy right now with something really important, but when she's done I'll- I'll take off with her and see about helping with this.

[She starts trying to push herself off the bench, and the result is a little pathetic.]

[ideas]

[ Cam scrabbles to support Terps once again, arm wrapping around her. ]

I think the plan is to catch a plane to London right now. Hermes wants to be by the family.

[terpsichord]

What? I thought Apollo was coming here. He said his plane would land tonight.

[ideas]

Well, he'd probably have to stop here anyway. Once we get there, we can ask. I've been running around all day and things change.

[terpsichord]

Okay, okay.

[Leaning on Cam as she starts to walk, leaning heavily on the umbrella.]

No matter what happens, I need to be in America. All the important people in international media are here, y'know? I got shit to do.
