A TERRIBLE THING IS HAPPENING

reference books detailing myths and legends stolen from libraries...
wikipedia pages wiped clean from the face of the internet...
ancient stained glass windows smashed and destroyed...
historical research centers burnt to the ground...

Someone out there is trying very, very hard to erase all of the possible sources of power and belief of the ancient gods and goddesses. And it hurts. Whilst the powers of the minders are unharmed by the attacks, the gods and goddesses will be certainly feeling the toll: it's now painfully clear that even the simplest of miracles are now becoming almost impossible to perform.

deities, you had better have gifted your minders with some decent blessings! Because now you're going to rely on them more than ever. Someone is out to get you.

[She understands, and doesn't hold it against him. She's refusing most people's help at the moment regardless. She opens the door, peeking in before slipping through the crack and shutting it behind her.]

[A very small smile, it's about all she can manage right now. Making her way over to the couch, she curls up next to him and props him onto her. Lightly running her fingers through his hair, she just sits there for a moment quietly.]

I definitely get that. [He releases a soft sigh when Iris touches his hair, curls up against him, connects with him. It's what he needs after so much solitary confinement, the touch of another immortal. He leans in against her, closing his eyes for a moment to just enjoy that warmth.]

Well I'm glad you came here. Not seeing anyone's killing me.

[She needed the contact as well... And a touch that was warmer than that of her husband's. She's enjoying him leaning into her.]

I'm glad I came too... I couldn't very well leave you alone.

[She smiles and buries her face in his hair, brushing her lips lightly over the top of his head.]

Eh, I haven't been alone. Renee's been keeping me company, she just stepped out to get some coffee.

She's a good one. I'm glad you have her to take care of you.

[She's just going to sit here and pet you, Hermes, you poor dear. She hates seeing you like this.]

[He hates being like this. He curls up against her, twirling hair with his finger.] She's the best minder I've had in all my years, it's going to suck losing her.

[She makes a small sound at that.]

You can't think like that. You'll waste the time you do have with her if you do...
