A TERRIBLE THING IS HAPPENING

reference books detailing myths and legends stolen from libraries...
wikipedia pages wiped clean from the face of the internet...
ancient stained glass windows smashed and destroyed...
historical research centers burnt to the ground...

Someone out there is trying very, very hard to erase all of the possible sources of power and belief of the ancient gods and goddesses. And it hurts. Whilst the powers of the minders are unharmed by the attacks, the gods and goddesses will be certainly feeling the toll: it's now painfully clear that even the simplest of miracles are now becoming almost impossible to perform.

deities, you had better have gifted your minders with some decent blessings! Because now you're going to rely on them more than ever. Someone is out to get you.

[ As soon as she reaches out, he's taken her hand in both of his. His gaze flickers only once to the medical equipment that's been set up all around her. ]

Ah. Well. Think you can sit tight for a moment while I talk to the doctors?

[ This isn't, he thinks, something he can't take care of, unlike the larger ongoing crisis. ]

[As messed up and frightening as everything is, his touch still manages to calm her and bring something almost like a smile to her face.]

I think I can do that. Thank you, love. Oh, can you find me some water? I've been asking, but nobody's come back to my room in a long time.

[hoaxes]

I'll hit the vending machines for a bottle before I come back, [ he says, with a slight nod, squeezing her hand. ] I'll only be a moment, love.

[ Loki lingers only a moment longer before he's left the room. A few stolen IDs and shapeshifts later, he returns in the form he'd gone in, carrying a bottle of water which he offers her as soon as he's close enough. ]

We're good to go. Drink up, and we'll head home.

[ Home is a flexible word, with any god, but the point stands. ]

[Loki takes rather more than a moment before returning, but Sigyn waits patiently. She's used to waiting- she doesn't like it, she can feel the ticking-by of every second that she's caught here, but she can. Still, it's with relief that she greets him again, taking the bottle and giving his hand a quick kiss.]

Thanks. [Uncapping for a deep, grateful drink while pushing away the blanket over her.] Oh god, perfect. [Ah, modern language.] I think my shoes are over there.

Okay, let's... [Time to try standing. She gets a little dizzy, but it's for the most part successful.] -okay.

[Another wave of incredible thirst hits her and she downs half the bottle before capping it again and grabbing her jacket.]

Let's get going. I can't stand places like this.
