IC: EVENT
A TERRIBLE THING IS HAPPENING
reference books detailing myths and legends stolen from libraries...
wikipedia pages wiped clean from the face of the internet...
ancient stained glass windows smashed and destroyed...
historical research centers burnt to the ground...
Someone out there is trying very, very hard to erase all of the possible sources of power and belief of the ancient gods and goddesses. And it hurts. Whilst the powers of the minders are unharmed by the attacks, the gods and goddesses will be certainly feeling the toll: it's now painfully clear that even the simplest of miracles are now becoming almost impossible to perform.
deities, you had better have gifted your minders with some decent blessings! Because now you're going to rely on them more than ever. Someone is out to get you.

He had fainted first, falling flat on his face when Renee came by to wake him up. He had gotten up too quickly, not feeling the affect of what had happened until the morning. Now though, melting into his sofa and being waited on, he feels it all too well. Even the wings, on his shoes on the other side of the room, rustle as feebly as he does. This? This sucks. He hates being this useless.]

So far, no one's dead. That's good, at least. But she may not have had this job for long, but she knows Hermes isn't supposed to be like this. She's almost relieved to keep being sent out so that she doesn't have to see it, but that just makes her upset with herself, so she grabs two bottles of Gatorade and brings them over. ]
no subject
Come on, guys, you can do it. We've got to pull ourselves together.
no subject
Would petting the wings help or do they not like that?
no subject
They don't like being touched by anyone but me, no. It's a security policy more than anything.
[He reaches for the Gatorade, then taking a gentle sip.]
Take a break, you have ten minutes before I send you back on the job.
no subject
Well, stroke them a little from me, okay? You can do it, guys. I believe in you.
[ In more ways than one. There's a nod at the mention of a break, and she takes the chance to sit down on the floor and stretch out her legs. ]

[He sighs though, dropping his head back against the arm of the sofa.]
You'll only have to keep running around for maybe another day? I'm surprised its taken this long for me to recover as is. [Sigh] What's the state of things?
no subject
[ Oh-- oh, no, Hermes, don't do that :C ]
Don't worry about me, focus on you. Everyone's pretty much the same so far. Lots of people going to head to London, lots of missing books and movies and video games. They took the latest 'Mummy' movie. I didn't know people even saw that. [ She shakes her head. ] I've been doing what I can for everyone -- for you, too. Lots of doing everything I can think of in your name.

It's a shame he can't use his wings. Commercial aircrafts take precious time away from what feels like a countdown already. Still, Eden would never let him fly. Not in his state.
He, Eden, and Magda had rounded other seraphim within the UK to gather any remaining records of their existence and to safeguard them. A text message might have sufficed, but if he can help with the efforts, he will. They must protect what is left.
There's a message shot off to Hermes' phone an hour before he arrives. It's short and to the point: 1 hour. i'll be there.
Then, three solid knocks on the door. Uriel is leaning against the door frame, still battling cold sweats as his temperature continues to drop, the light and fire seemingly leaving him little by little.]

If this is one big Judeo-Christian pagan genocide, you probably should have picked a better place to start than with the messenger.
no subject
I know better than to shoot the messenger. I'm here because I want to know what's happening here, what is being done about it and the best way to do so is to go to the messenger.
[His look is a bit judging, as if to say we don't have time for this.]
no subject
Alright, sit down, let's have a chat.
Which one are you again? Dancer, prancer, sleepy, dopey?
no subject
I'm willing to share what the angels have been doing. What I want to know is how bad it's been here, and what your house is doing.
[He isn't going to play tough for long. He just wants to establish how this works, even if he is dealing with cold sweats. Lucky Hermes, able to hide his weaknesses. Uriel isn't so lucky, his face pale.]
no subject
I have no idea if this will help, but you're still not allowed to complain.
[Concern is evidently present -- she's never seen him like this and didn't even think she ever would -- but showing any semblance of vulnerability in his time of need isn't an option.]
no subject
Look at you, ordering me around like you're Hera herself.
[He takes the glass and the pill though, groaning as he tries to sit up slowly, not quite wanting to risk another dizzy spell.]
But you're so good to me that okay maybe I can get it slide.
no subject
Her hand rests against his back, not quite for support as much as it's to show she's there. Just in case his dizziness gets the best of him again.]
I'm always good to you.
no subject
He leans against her hand, resting his head back against his shoulder once he's taken the pill and handed the glass back. He gives her a rather loving smile, reactions far slower than normal for him, though average for most. He takes her hand and squeezes it, a sign of his appreciation.] You really are. The rest of them are pissing their pants with jealousy over how amazing you are.
no subject
They better. [Hermes is watched for a moment longer. She then tips her chin and moves to stand up.] Now get some rest. I've got some calls to make.

Even her brightest clothing appears dull and drab as she makes her way to where he is... Pausing at his door, she knocks twice, very lightly.]
It's me. Can I come in?
no subject
At the sound of Iris' face, Hermes' head turns quickly in the direction of the door, too quickly, and he gets dizzy.]
You'd better get in here.
no subject
I needed out...
[A very small smile, it's about all she can manage right now. Making her way over to the couch, she curls up next to him and props him onto her. Lightly running her fingers through his hair, she just sits there for a moment quietly.]
no subject
Well I'm glad you came here. Not seeing anyone's killing me.
no subject
I'm glad I came too... I couldn't very well leave you alone.
[She smiles and buries her face in his hair, brushing her lips lightly over the top of his head.]
